On 18 October 2019, BIX Malaysia launched its mobile app at the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) annual flagship event, InvestSmart. The launching ceremony was officiated by Chairman of BIX Malaysia Dato’ Lee Kok Kwan, Chief Regulatory Officer of SC Foo Lee Mei, and SC Market and Corporate Supervision Executive Director, Kamarudin Hashim.

BIX Malaysia mobile app provides a personalized experience to investors to get instant access to bonds and sukuk information that are relevant to them. With its favourite function, investors can select and add particular bonds they wish to keep track on. Once the bonds are being added to the favourite function, investors can opt to have the news alert on their favourite bonds via notification.

Unlike equities, information related to bond and sukuk is not easily accessible for the investors. Bond and sukuk usually are traded via over the counter. Thus, bond and sukuk information is only disclosed to the trading counter parties.

Given the importance of equal access to similar information among investors, BIX Malaysia was created as a non-profit information platform established to provide free public access to information on bonds and sukuk issued in Malaysia.

With the BIX Mobile app, investors can get the necessary information on the bond, which includes the last trading price, the coupon payment schedules, the ratings, and other relevant details about the bond for their investment decision-making process. A search engine tool is also integrated into the app in which investors can filter their search for a specific bond. For example, if the investors set the filter to search only for bonds with ten years maturity, the search engine will list all bonds with ten years maturities.
