CelcomDigi proposes RM10bil sukuk programme
KUALA LUMPUR: CelcomDigi Bhd, through its wholly-owned subsidiary CelcomDigi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, has proposed to establish an Islamic medium-term notes programme of up to RM10bil in nominal value.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the telecommunications group said its subsidiary had lodged the required documents for the Sukuk Murabahah programme with the Securities Commission.

The programme, which has a perpetual tenure, has been assigned an AAA rating by RAM Rating Services Bhd.

CelcomDigi said proceeds from the sukuk issuances would be used to finance capital expenditure, working capital, general funding requirements and corporate purposes of the group.

The proceeds may also be used to refinance existing conventional borrowings and Islamic financing facilities, as well as future Islamic financing obligations.

The programme also allows for the issuance of sustainability and sustainability-linked sukuk in accordance with relevant guidelines and frameworks.

AmInvestment Bank Bhd and CIMB Investment Bank Bhd are the joint principal advisers, joint lead arrangers and joint lead managers for the programme.

AmBank Islamic Bhd and CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd are the joint Shariah advisers.
